Physical Modelling
We develop transparent, see-through flow prototypes to visualize and validate complex flow behavior in real time. Using advanced techniques like smoke visualization, Pitot measurements, and Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), our setups accurately capture velocity distribution, turbulence, and flow uniformity. These physical models complement CFD analysis, enabling precise optimization of ducts, static mixers, ESP inlets, and industrial equipment. Through EFD, we bridge design and reality — ensuring every flow path is verified, efficient, and performance-proven.

Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP)
- Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) play a vital role in removing dust from industrial process gases like those found in boilers, cement, and steel production.
- One key factor affecting ESP effectiveness is ensuring uniform gas distribution inside the device. This ensures that dust is evenly collected on the plates provided within the ESP.
- Our specification outlines the requirements for designing, manufacturing, erecting, and testing a physical three-dimensional scale model of an ESP, including associated ducts and dampers.
- To ensure optimal performance, we conduct comprehensive model testing of the entire ESP system using a scaled-down model (1:10). This testing evaluates factors such as particulate collection efficiency, draft loss, dust re-entrainment, and uniform gas distribution.
- The model study includes all connecting ductwork from the air preheater gas outlet to the inlet of expansion joints at the ID fan(s) inlet.
- Our testing follows ICAC publication no. EP-7 standards, ensuring accurate and reliable results. This focus on physical modeling is a cornerstone of our expertise and ensures the effectiveness of ESP systems in industrial settings.
